Soprano
Elisabeth Kisselstein has been praised for having “the lungs and
piquancy of a Dawn Upshaw.” (J.P. Devine, The Kennebec Journal.)
Comfortable in both operatic and musical theater venues, Elisabeth has
appeared as Lucy in The Telephone, the Mother in Amahl and the Night
Visitors, covered Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, and Carrie in Carousel, where a reviewer noted that she was '...convincing in (a) role that
could easily be (a) caricature.'" (Mack Richardson, The Palladium
Times).
Elisabeth’s other roles include:
Mlle Silverpeal (The Impresario), Papagena (The Magic Flute), Anne
Egerman (A Little Night Music), Princess Ida (Princess Ida), Eliza
Doolittle (My Fair Lady) and Marian Paroo (Music Man). She is currently preparing Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Konstanze (Die
Entführrung aus dem Serail), and Gilda (Rigoletto).
Elisabeth recently made her orchestral concert debut with the
Onondaga Civic Symphony, singing favorite selections from Gilbert and Sullivan’s
H.M.S. Pinafore and The Pirates of Penzance. Last
season also marked her debut as soprano soloist in Schubert’s Mass in
G, as well as recitals for both Oswego Opera and Civic Morning
Musicals. Elisabeth has been invited back to participate in CMM’s
recital series for the 2009 – 2010 series, and will be making her debut
as soprano soloist in Mozart’s Requiem.
